Guilin Railway Station, originally known as Guilin Railway South Station, is located in the Zhongshan Nan Road. Finished in October 2004, this station now is ranked as the first level

Water Way - Li River
Li River is the tie to connect Guilin city to the counties along it. This river is the highlight of Guilin. The Li River originates in the Mao'er Mountains in Xing'an County and flows in the general southern direction through Guilin, Yangshuo and Pingle. In Pingle the Li River merges with two other streams, and continues south as the Gui River, which falls into the Xi Jiang, the western tributary of the Pearl River, in Wuzhou.
 
The upper course of the River Li is connected by the ancient Lingqu Canal with the Xiang River, which flows north into the Yangtze; this in the past made the Li and Gui Rivers part of a highly important waterway connecting the Yangtze Valley with the Pearl River Delta.
 
With the development between 1986 and 1989, the banks along the Li River had been reconstructed and turned into a water system both for tourism and economy fields. And in 2000, Li River cruise was got the title as “Civilization Cruise Route” which was authorized by Transportation department.
