14 Days Discovery Tour to Guilin and Yunnan

Day 1

Arrival Guangzhou

Arrive in Guangzhou, you will be met at the airport & transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Optional activities: Pearl River Night Cruise (Daily, 60 mins)
 

Day 2

Guangzhou     Guilin

Today, you will take a city tour of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall(40 mins), Temple of Chen Family(around 1 hour), Temple of the Six Banyan Trees (40-60 mins) and Shamian Island (1-2 hours) Free at leisure before transfer to railway station to take high speed train to Guilin, which will be a 3-hour air journey.

Day 3

Guilin      Yangshuo    Guilin

Li River is the mother river of Guilin. Li River cruise (4-4.5 hours) from Guilin to Yangshuo is a highlight trip while tourist visit Guilin. You could see the essence view of Li River from Nine Horses Painting Hill to Xingping on board, where you will feel you are just walking in a landscape painting, consisting of crystal Li River Water, rolling green hills along the river, bamboo on the bank, wondering water buffaloes, fishermen, ect.
Pick up from your hotel at around 08:30, drive from downtown to Zhujiang Pier for about 30-40 minutes, from which you will board the cruise boat from Guilin to Yangshuo. The cruise boat genereally departs at 09:30 and arrive at Yangshuou Pier around 14:00.
After the tour, you could have some free time in Yangshuo to stroll along the famous West Street or ride a bike to explore the countryside as your optional tour ( on your expense).

Day 4

Guilin    Longsheng    Guilin

Continue your trip by driving to Longsheng in the morning (2.5 hours) this morning. You might depart from hotel earlier than usual. On arrival, you could take a view for the famous Longji Rice Terrace and explore Ping'an Zhuang Village there as well as other villages nearby. In the afternoon, drive back to Guilin.

Day 5

Guilin Kunming
In the morning, you will have a leisure half day city tour to visit the colorful Reed Flute Cave (around 1 hour) and Elephant Trunk Hill (around 1 hour) the symbol of Guilin City. After the sightseeing, have a lunch and take your flight to Kunming and have a rest when arriving in the “Spring City” and the capital city of Yunnan Province, from where you will start you colorful Yunnan tour.

Day 6

Kunming    Dali

In the morning, take a short flight to Dali, the ancient political, economic and cultural center of Yunnan. Upon arriving at Dali Airport, our guide is waiting at the exit and meets you. You will have leisure afternoon in Dali to visit Dali Ancient Town and Three Pagodas, which is the symbol of the history of Dali.

Three Pagodas	Erhai Lake	Xizhou Bai's Houses

Day 7

Dali

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the pier and take an Erhai Cruise for a wonderful experience. Erhai Lake is the 2nd largest lake in Yunnan province, which is just second to Dianchi Lake. It is also one of the seven biggest fresh-water lakes in China. In the afternoon, then visit Xizhou Bai's Houses (Yan's Courtyard included), which is just at the bank of Erhai lake, where you can see what the Bai people's houses like and experience the Bai’ s culture.

Day 8

Dali    Lijiang

In the morning, take 4hours driving to Lijiang, the famous ancient town in southwest China, and enjoy a leisure visit around Lijiang Ancient Town that to walk down the cobblestone streets over 700 years and feel the Naxi way of life which changed little over time. The ancient town is well-preserved and knows as a centre for the Naxi people’s brilliant culture. You will be have a leisure, but happy afternoon to explore the ancient town.

Day 9

Lijiang

In the morning, you will drive about half an hour to visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (cable car and green vans available in the scenic area). It is one of the highlights in Lijiang. After lunch, visit Yufeng Temple at the southern foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountai. This temple plays an important role in local residents’ religious life. Then go to see the Baisha Mural in the ancient capital of Naxi Kingdom in Baisha village, which is the cradle of the Naxi culture and ancient capital of the naxi Kingdom.

Day 10

Lijiang    Shangri-la

In the morning, drive another 4hours (about 178km) to Shangri-la, a place with stunning scenery, the azure sky and the hospitality of unsophisticated people. You will take a short visit to Dukezong Ancient Town upon arrival.

Dukezong Ancient Town	Songzanlin Lamasery	Potatso National Park

Day 11

Shangri-la

Today, get up early, you will first take a minutes driving to visit Songzanlin Lamasery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan and one of the 13 large lamaseries in the joint area of Tibet, Yunnan and Sichuan. Then visitPotatso National Park (green vans available in scenic area) after lunch. The park is around 20 km away from Shangri-la downtown. It will need around 30-40 minutes for driving. This is the 1st national park in China.

Day 12

Shangri-la    Kunming

Fly back to Kunming in the morning for transit a departure flight. You will then have chance to visit Western Hill, from the top of which, you could the Kunming city as well as Dianchi Lake aside. Then visit to Village of Ethnic Culture, which is a window to show the cultures and customs of various ethnic group of Yunnan Province.

Day 13

Kunming Guangzhou
Today after breakfast, you will have a chance to visit the famous Stone Forest (2 hours)- famous as the typical karst landform and known as the First Wonder of the World. In the afternoon, be transferred to the airport and take a flight from Kunming to Guangzhou.

Departure Guangzhou 
Free at leisure until be transferred to the airport for your international flight to your next destination.
