11 Days South China Tour of Guizhou and Guilin

Day 1

Arrival Guiyang
Arrive in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province in the southwest of China. You will be met at the airport & transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 2

Guiyang    Anshun
In the morning, you will be transferred to Anshun (105km, 2 hours). Anshun is in the central town for the west of Guizhou Province. It is the home of Mulao Minority, Buyi Minority and Miao Minority. In Anshun, you could see the largest waterfall- Huangguoshu Waterfall today. Close to Huangguoshu Waterfall, Tianxingqiao Scenic Resort is your next spot . The most distinguished character of the scenic resort is its abundance in water, rocks, forests and caves. In the late afternoon, you will explore the Batik Museum.

Day 3

Anshun    Guiyang
Today, drive back to Guiyang. On the way, you will visit the Tianlong Village, which is one of these ancient Tun-Bao settlements built during the reign of Emperor Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. Then visit Qinyan Ancient Town which as originally built in 1378, with a long history.

Day 4

Guiyang    Kaili
After breakfast, you will take driving to Kaili (around 180km, lasts for 2-2.5 hours) which is the home of Miao and Ge ethnic groups. And then visit Kaili Folk Museum , which is an ideal place to view the ethnic culture at a glance. Then go to visit Qingman Short-skirt Miao Village by bus (1 hour) and Shiqiao Miao village, which is noted for its traditional way of making paper from the tree bark. Family visit can be arranged as your requested. In the afternoon, back to Kaili for overnight.

Note:
1. Since this trip goes to mountainous area, the road is often rugged. Besides, it often takes long time driving from one place to another.
2. The weather in mountainous area is changeable. TGT suggests you bring raincoat or umbrella with you and also wear suitable shoes.
3. While you are traveling in minority area, TGT suggests you follow your local guide to avoid the restrictions of some minority groups.

Day 5

Kaili    Xijiang    Leishan    Rongjiang
Depart from Kaili, you will be transferred to Rongjiang in the morning. It is around 200km from Kaili and needs abound 3.5-4 hours driving from Kaili to Rongjiang. Enroute you will visit Xijiang Miao Village, which is also named 'China's Miao stockade village of one thousand households', is supposed to be the largest Miao Village in China. We will passy Leishan and drive to Rongjiang. Stay overnight at Rongjiang.

Day 6

Rongjiang    Zhaoxing
Driving to Zhaoxing via Congjiang, and it is around 90km, needs around 1.5 hours. You will have chance to visit Chengjiang Dong Village and Basha Miao Village on the way. It is only 7 km from Congjiang County and it keeps the vast majority of Miao’s original character. Upon arrival at Zhaoxing, you will take a look around Zhaoxing Dong Village. Zhaoxing is famous for its Dong Villages, which are the largest in in China. You will Stay overnight at Zhaoxing.

Day 7

Zhaoxing    Sanjiang
Drive to Sanjiang Dong Autonomous after breakfast. It is about 110 km from Zhaoxing to Sanjiang, needs nearly around 3.5 hours driving. You will then take a visit to the landmark of Sanjiang--- Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, which is a wooden and stone architecture with Dong style. Then visit Drum Tower in Sanjiang after arrival. The Drum Tower is the first tower of Dong ethnic and it is a wooden structure as the symbol of Sanjiang County. It is reputed as the No. 1 drum tower of the world. Stay overnight at Sanjiang.

Day 8

Sanjiang    Longsheng
Continue your driving to Longsheng in the morning (around 100km, around 2.5 hours). On arrival, you could take a view for the famous Longji Rice Terrace and explore Ping'an Zhuang Village there as well as other villages nearby. Stay overnight at Longji, the Ping An Zhuang Village.

Day 9

Longsheng    Guilin
In the morning, you could get up earlier and watch the sunrise at Longji Terrace Fields. You will have a free morning. Then take about 2.5hours driving to Guilin. Upon arrival, you be transferred to visit the colorful Reed Flute Cave (around 1 hour) and Elephant Trunk Hill (around 1 hour) the symbol of Guilin City. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. If you would like walking, you could walk along Shanhu Lake and Ronghu Lake on your own after dinner, where you could find many local seniors dancing on the small squares in summer night.

Day 10

Guilin      Yangshuo    Guilin
Li River is the mother river of Guilin. Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo is a highlight trip while tourist visit Guilin. You could see the essence view of Li River from Nine Horses Painting Hill to Xingping on board, where you will feel you are just walking in a landscape painting, consisting of crystal Li River Water, rolling green hills along the river, bamboo on the bank, wondering water buffaloes, fishermen, ect.
Pick up from your hotel at around 08:30, drive from downtown to Zhujiang Pier for about 30-40 minutes, from which you will board the cruise boat from Guilin to Yangshuo. The cruise boat genereally departs at 09:30 and arrive at Yangshuou Pier around 14:00.
After the tour, you could have some free time in Yangshuo to stroll along the famous West Street or ride a bike to explore the countryside as your optional tour ( on your expense).
