Li River
Li River is the most cream scenic area located in Guilin. It originates from
Cat Mountain, extending 427km to Xijiang River at Wuzhou. The Li River has been reputed as a beautiful scroll of traditional Chinese painting.
With the representative Karst formation, Li River has difference charming then other normal rivers. The 83 km long Li River runs though Guilin to Yangshuo which is the essence of the scenery of Guilin. There are strange peaks, odds rocks, clear water, and green hills along the river, which make the Li River like a heavenly wonderland. This poetic landscape is featured by “the green hills, blue waters, bizarre caverns and weird rocks” as well as “deep pools, perilous shoals, murmuring springs and roaring waterfalls”

Elephant Trunk Hill
Elephant Trunk Hill, located at the conjunction of Li River and Peach Blossom River, is a famous spot and also the badge of Guilin City.
It looks like a huge elephant drinking water from the Li River, hence the name. Elephant Trunk Hill is an amazing work of the nature. The whole hill is a pure limestone which lay at the seabed 360million years ago.
There is a round cave between the body and trunk of the elephant. This cave is named “Moon-over-Water”, because in moon night, the whole looks like a full moon with a full moon reflection in the Li River. On the back of the elephant, there is a pagoda built in Ming Dynasty. Yunfeng Temple lies on the foot of the hill and there is f "The Revolution of the Taiping Heavenly Kindow in Guilin" exhibited in the temple.
Reed Flute Cave
Located at Guangming Hill,
Reed Flute Cave is an amazing karst cave by Peach Blossom River. It is just 5km away from Guilin downtown. It has received millions tourists from both domestic and abroad.
It is a magic fairyland which boasts stalagmites, stalactites, curtains, flowers and stone columns in various shapes and colors. Around the cave, there reeds grow verdantly, and it is said that the reeds could be made into flute which can produce beautiful music. And this is the derivation of the name.
The cave is 240m long with a touring distance of 500m. The U-shaped sight-seeing route takes visitors about one hour to enjoy the different spots inside the cave. The spots here are named fancy or poetic names such as Dragon Pagoda, Crystal Palace, Virgin Forest, Flower and Fruit Mountain and some other interesting names. It is very pleasure to listen to romantic or fairy stories while appreciating the stone formation inside the Cave.
Longsheng Longji Rice Terrace
Longsheng Longji Rice Terrace, located in Longshen County, is the famous landmark of Guilin City. It is about 100 km from Guilin downtown. First cultivate in Yuan Dynasty, Longji Rice Terrace has a history of over 700 years. Still used now for growing rice, it also becomes a attractive spots for tourists from both domestic and abroad.
The scenic area covers and area of 66 square kilometers. The most of the grade of the slops is between 26° to 35°, some even reaches 50°. The scenes of the rive terrace changes from season to season. In spring, the terraces are full of water, making the terrace looks like several silver. In summer, green waves of the rice flowing on the terrace. In Autumn, yellow, and dropping ears of rice shows the good harvest. In winter, snow covers the terrace, making here a jade world.
Yangshuo
