Daxu Ancient Town

Daxu Ancient Town, at the east bank of the middle reaches of Li River, is 18 kilometers to the southeast of Guilin downtown. Since Northern Song Dynasty, Daxue had been a commercial center in this area, and reached its heyday during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

It is really worth to walk on the cobbled streets to appreciate the ancient buildings along the street. The street is 2500m long and 2m wide stretching through the town. Here, take a stroll along the street, have a leisurely glimpse into the courtyard with ancient Chinese architecture, will be very pleasure.

In the ancient town, there is a single-arched bridge, “Wanshou Bridge”, with 13 docks built in the Ming Dynasty. Among the 13 docks, five were preserved well and still in use.
