For foreign tourists who plan to visit China, we suggest you avoid the Chinese public holidays, because the domestic tourists also start their China tours during these days, when most destinations will be more crowded than they are in usual days.

♦Spring Festival holiday (30 Dec - 6 Jan according to Chinese lunar calendar ) 
♦Tomb-Sweeping Day (4 Apr - 6 Apr) 
♦Labor Day (1 May - 3 May) 
♦Dragon-Boat Festival (5 May according to Chinese lunar calendar, often 3 days holiday with weekend) 
♦Mid-Autumn Day (15 Aug according to Chinese lunar calendar, often 3 days holiday with weekend) 
♦National Day (1 Oct - 7 Oct)

By the way, some special periods may also cause the tourist season such as the Canton Fair in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. International Confucius Culture Festival in Qufu, summer holiday etc…
